Will I go to hell if I practiced witchcraft

Hi, when I was in primary school I did go to a catholic one but I watched all of these magic tv shows at the time and in year 4 I found witchcraft and did a ‘spell’ and got obsessed with it. I now don’t practice it at all I just want to know will I go to hell for this is there any way I can be forgive I’m young and don’t want to live the rest of my life knowing I won’t join my family in heaven.

So will I?

Hi Josh, you’re certainly not going to hell for that! Why don’t you mention it the next time you’re going to confession – this Easter season is a great time to renew sorrow for any sins you may have forgiven, receive absolution (I doubt that what you mentioned, given your young age, was a serious sin), and leave the confessional full of grace.

Last Sunday the Gospel was about the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Lk 24: 13-35), and we saw there that Jesus was with them the whole time, even when they were most depressed. So He’s always been with you, and one day will lead you by the hand to meet the rest of your family in heaven – all he’s asking of us is to do what Vietnamese Cardinal Van Thuan advised us to do. He said that if we’re wearing red glasses, the whole world looks red, if blue glasses, the world seems blue, but if we put on Jesus glasses, we see Jesus in everyone – so let’s be sure to wear those Jesus glasses on our road to Paradise!
